A lifetime of stories

Every life has a story.

Behind every face is a lifetime of relationships, experiences, and everyday moments. There is always more to a person than their age.

Through the years

The years change us. Our worth never does.

Our needs may change with time. Our individuality and independence still matter, and we all deserve connection and care.

The reason we show up

Growing older is inevitable. Being forgotten shouldn't be.

No one should face hardship feeling that nobody cares. SOS is building a community of neighbors and businesses willing to lend a hand, starting in Snohomish County.

AWhy It Matters

Our senior neighbors deserve care and connection.

Growing older brings changes, but it never diminishes a person's worth. Small, steady acts of support can make everyday life a little easier.

  1. 01

The essentials get harder to reach

On a fixed income, paying for groceries, prescriptions, and everyday needs can mean difficult choices.

  2. 02

    Isolation sets in quietly

A visit or a phone call can mean a great deal, especially when regular company is hard to come by.

  3. 03

    Help is hard to find

Finding the right program or filling out another form can feel overwhelming. Having someone alongside can help.

BThe Human Story

Care begins with getting to know the person.

For Caitlin, this mission is personal.

Helping care for her grandfather as he lived with Alzheimer's disease showed Caitlin Austin how much accessible care and support matter. That experience stayed with her as she noticed older neighbors struggling to afford everyday necessities.

Later, she began helping an older gentleman who lives alone, without family nearby. To protect his privacy, she calls him "J." Finding the support he needed was far from simple.

Neighbors, volunteers, and local businesses came together to help J. Seeing that care turn into practical support inspired Caitlin to create Save Our Seniors.

CWhen a Community Comes Together

$37,000+

Raised for J's care — through GoFundMe.

Contributed by the community through GoFundMe, specifically for J's care.

  • Thousands

    Of items donated

Sent through J's Amazon wishlist to help restore and furnish his home.

  • Home

    Transformation

A professional cleanup and extensive renovation, donated by local supporters.

Neighbors gave their time, skills, supplies, and financial support to help J. The $37,000+ was raised for J's care, not for SOS operations. That experience inspired a wider hope: to reach more seniors as SOS develops its funding, volunteer network, and capacity.

DFrom One to Many

One neighbor. One community.A movement of care.

SOS is bringing willing neighbors and businesses together, beginning in Snohomish County and welcoming interest from across the country. We're growing carefully, with respect for each senior's needs and independence.

Our network is still developing. Registering doesn't guarantee a placement or assignment, and screening will be required before any volunteer works with a senior.

EThree Ways to Act

There's a place for you in this.

  • 01

    Support our mission

Your generosity can help SOS take the next step toward reaching more seniors who need someone in their corner.

  • 02

    Share your time

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can offer is our time. Share your interest as our volunteer network grows.

  • 03

    Bring your business alongside

Your business has something special to offer. Your skills, services, or supplies could help support our senior neighbors.
